Solution

* During sunrise or sunset, the sun is near horizon and the sunrays travel largerdistance through the earth atmosphere. During their propagation through the atmosphere, the sunrays coming from upper and lower periferysuffer refractionand bend unequally so that sun appears oval or flattened.* During the noon time, the sun is overhead so that the sunrays meet the atmospherein normal direction so that no refraction takes place. Hence, the sun appears circular in shape during the noon time.
