The surface area of a cube is 1536cm2.
Find:
(i) the length if its edge
(ii) its volume
(iii) the volume of its material whose thickness is 5mm.

Let side of cube =acm
Surface area of cube =6a2
6a2=1536
a2=256
a=16cm

Volume =a3=16×16×16=4096cm3

Volume of material = Surface area × thickness
=1536×510 [to convert thickness into cm]
=768cm3
