The temperatures of equal masses of three liquids A, B, C are 20oC,30oCand40oC respectively. On mixing A and B, resulting temperature of the mixture is 26oC. On mixing A and C the resulting temperature of the mixture is 32oC. Find the final resulting temperature of the mixture B and C.

For mixture of A and B,
26=ms120+ms230ms1+ms2
26s1+26s2=20s1+30s2
s1s2=46=23
For mixture of A and C,
32=20s1+40s3s1+s3
32s1+32s3=20s1+40s3
s1s3=812=23
So, s2s3=23×32=1
For mixture or B and C
θ=30s2+40s3s2+s3=30+402=35oC
