The thickness of a hollow metal cylinder is 2cm. It is 70cm long with outer radius of 14cm. Find the volume of metal required to make the cylinder, assuming it is open at both ends. Also, find its weight if the metal weighs 8g per cm3.

Lengthofcylinder(h)=70cm

OuterRadius(R)=14cm

Then InnerRadius(r)=outerradiusthickness

=142 =12cm

Volumeofhollowcylinder=πh(R2r2)

=227×70×(142122)

=22×10×(196144) =22×10×52

=11440cm3

Weightof1cm3=8gm

SO,weightof11440cm3=11440×8

=91520gm =915201000kg

=91.52kg

Hence, Weightofthemetalis91.52kg.
