The correct option is D 273 sq. inch.
AP=BQ=6sinα
DP=QC=6cosα.
A= area of the trapezium 12[AB+DC].BQ
=12(6+6+12cosα).6sinα
=36sinα(1+cosα)
A will be maximum when α=π/3
A=36(sin60+12sin120)
=36[32+12.32]=273 sq. inch.
