Solution

Ear ossicles
  • Ear is divisible into the external, middle, and internal ear.
  • Middle ear consists of three ossicles known as the malleus, stapes, and incus that are linked to one another in a chain pattern. The malleus (hammer-shaped bone) is linked to the tympanic membrane.
  • The incus (anvil shape) transmits vibrations from the malleus to the stapes.
  • The stapes (stirrup-shaped bone) are linked to the oval window of the cochlea.

The sequence of ear ossicles

● Starting from the eardrum the sequence of the ear ossicles is:
Malleus-Incus-Stapes
