The time constant of the LR circuit,
LR=2×103sec
L=2R×103H. . . . . .(1)

When a 90Ω resistance is joined in series, time constant is
L90+R=0.5×103s

2R×10390+R=0.5×103 (from equation 1)

2R90+R=0.5

2R=0.5(90+R)

2R=0.5×90+0.5R=45+0.5R

1.5R=45

R=451.5=30Ω

From equation (1),
L=2R=2×30×103
L=60mH
The correct option is C.
