Acceleration of block moving down rough plane =a1=gsinθμgcosθ
Acceleration of block moving down smooth surface =a2=gsinθ

Time taken to slide down the plane a distance of s is found by

Thus t1=2 sgsin45μgcos45...(i)
t2=2sgsin45...(ii)

As it is given that the time taken by a body to slide down a rough 45 inclined plane is thrice that required to slide down a smooth 45 inclined plane. t1=3t2

By squaring and dividing the equation (i)/(ii) we get,

32=12112μ12

1μ=19
μ=89

Hence option A is the correct answer.
