Depth of flow in the triangular channel, y = 2m
Area of cross-section of the channel,
A=12×3.5×2=3.5 m2

Velocity of flow at 0.4 m depth from the water surface of channel,
V0.2y=0.8 m/s

Velocity of flow at 1.6 m depth from the water surface of channel,
V0.8y=0.4 m/s
Average velocity ¯V=V0.2y+V0.82=0.8+0.42=0.6 m/s

Discharge,
Q=A¯V=3.5×0.6=2.1 m3/s
