The tops of two poles of height 16 m and 10 m are connected by a wire of length l metres. If the wire makes an angle of 30o with the horizontal then find l.

Let AE be a pole of 10 m and BD be the another pole of 16 m and DE be the wire.

From the figure,
CD=1610=6 m

Now,
In CDE,
sin30=CDDE
DE=2×6=12 m.

Hence, this is the answer.
