Let $A E$ be a pole of $10 m$ and $B D$ be the another pole of $16 m$ and $D E$ be the wire.

From the figure,
$C D = 16 - 10 = 6 m$

Now,
In $△ C D E$ ,
$sin 30^{\circ} = \frac{C D}{D E}$
$D E = 2 \times 6 = 12 m .$

Hence, this is the answer.
