Capacity of the jug = 25 qt

Water available in the tank = 24 gal

Let's convert gallons to quarts.

We know that,
1 gallon = 4 quarts


So,
24 gal = 24 × 4 qt =2 qt

Hence, out of 25 qt capacity of the jug, 2 qt was already filled.

Now we have to find the remaining amount of water to be filled in the jug.

Amount of water to be filled = Total capacity - water available

25 qt - 2 qt = 23 qt
