Area of the room
= $\frac{\text{Total cost of flooring}}{\text{Cost of flooring 1 sq. metre}}$
= $\frac{510}{8.5}=60m^2$

Also, the room is a rectangle
$\therefore \text{area of rectangle}$ $A=l\times b$
$\Rightarrow 8\times b=60$
$\Rightarrow b=7.5m$
