Solution

Step-1: Compute the value of Pn:

Pn=P(1+r100)n
where Pn is the number of industries after nyears
Pis the no. of industries presently
r is the increment every year
nis the no of years after which the new value is to be found.

Let the Present number of industries in a particular portion of the country be P.
So, from the given question P=1600;
Now, the government has decided to increase the number of industries in the area by 20% every year.
So, let the number of industries after2 years be Pn.

Now, we need to use the formulaPn=P(1+r100)n to find the value of Pn

Step 2 : Applying the formula and substituting the vales in the given formula:
Hence, the number of industries after 2 years (Pn) = P(1+r100)n

ā‡’Pn=1600(1+20100)2
ā‡’Pn=1600Ɨ120100Ɨ120100
ā‡’Pn=1600Ɨ120100Ɨ120100
ā‡’Pn=2304
Hence, the number of industries after 2years will be 2304.
Hence, the correct answer is ā€œ2304ā€.
