On 2 December 1984, Bhopal witnessed one of the world’s worst industrial disasters.27 tons of lethal gases including methyl isocyanate (MIC) leaked from Union Carbide’s pesticide factory, forming a deadly cloud of gases over the city. Many people died and those who survived were left with severely affected lungs, brain, eyes, muscles, gastrointestinal, neurological, reproductive and immune systems.
