From the freebody diagram,
T−3g+3a=0...(i)
T−2g−2a=0 ...(ii)
Equating (i) and (ii), we get,
3g−3a=2g+2a
⇒a=g5m/sec2
Distance travelled in 4th sec is given by,
S 4th=a2(2n−1)
=(g5)2(2×4−1)
=7g10=7×9.810m
Net mass'm' =m1−m2=3−2=akg
So, decrease in P.E.=mgh
