Fluorescence occurs when electrical energy is supplied to some materials, it emits electromagnetic radiation mainly ultraviolet rays.
This property of emission of light by an object when it is heated is known as incandescence.
Hence, the two common ways by which light energy is obtained from other forms of energy are fluorescence and incandescence.
