Given, the total number of toys bought =8
Number of toys bought by elder sister =5

Let the number of toys bought by younger sister be x

Number of toys bought by elder sister + Number of toys bought by younger sister = Total number of toys bought

5+x=8

Subtract 5 from both the sides
5+x5=85
x=3

Hence, the number of toys bought by younger sister is x=3
