There are five different placentation in plants. These are:-

  • 1. Marginal Placentation:- In it, the placenta forms a ridge along the ventral suture of the ovary and the ovules are born on this ridge and form two rows. For example pea.
  • 2. Axile Placentation is the placenta axial and ovules are attached to the multilocular ovary. The example is a tomato.
  • 3. Parietal Placentation:- In it ovules develop on the inner wall of the ovary or on the peripheral part and ovary is one chambered. But it appears like two-chambered as false septum is formed known as Replum. It means the seeds in the fruit (cucumber) are attached to the inner surface of the ovary.
  • 4. Basal Placentation:-In it the placenta develops at the base and a single ovule is attached to it. For example sunflower.

Thus answer is Parietal.
