Solution
The correct option is A The intensity of sunlight The uneven heating of the air takes place due to the greater intensity of sunlight at the equator as compared to that of poles. Due to greater intensity of sunlight at the equator the air gets heated up, the air molecules absorbs the heat and the inter molecular forces between the air molecules becomes weak and its kinetic energy increases. The air molecules becomes lighter and rises up. This creates a low pressure zone on the equator while high pressure zone exist at the poles.
