The unit for electrochemical equivalent is:

Open in App
Solution

Electrochemical equivalent:

  1. The mass of a material freed by the passage of one coulomb of electron fluxes is characterized as its electrochemical equivalent.
  2. Whenever a current of one Ampere is transmitted for one second, the mass of the material is delivered to one of the electrodes, — in other words, the amount of power transmitted, may also be defined as electrochemical equivalent.

Mathematically, this can be represented as:

Z=Mq

Here,

Z is the electrochemical equivalent.

M is the mass of the substance.

q is the charge passed.

Therefore, the unit for electrochemical equivalent is grampercoulomb.
