We know that,
$(x - y) - z = x - (y + z)$ , for all numbers $x$ , $y$ and $z$ .

Since the above is true for all the numbers, it must be true for $x = 100$ , $y = 10.1$ and $z = 5.9$ also.

So, $(100 - 10.1) - 5.9$
$= 50 - (10.1 + 5.9)$
$= 100 - 16 = 84$
