Here $p (x) = x^{3} - k x^{2} + 11 x - 6$
If (x-1) is a factor , then p(1)=0
$\Rightarrow p (1) = 0$
$\Rightarrow 1^{3} - k (1)^{2} + 11 (1) - 6 = 0$
$\Rightarrow 1 - k + 5 = 0$
$\Rightarrow k = 6$
