Solution

The correct option is A $- 1$
Since $x^{2} - m x - 2$ is quotient on dividing by $x + 2$
$∴ (x + 2) (x^{2} - m x - 2) = x^{3} + 3 x^{2} - 4$
Since coefficient of x is zero in RHS, so we can compare that only
$∴ (- 2 m - 2) = 0$
$m = - 1$
