The correct option is A $\frac{34}{7}$
The triplicate ratio of $1 : 2$ is $1^{3} : 2^{3} = 1 : 8$
$∴ \frac{x - 4}{x + 2} = \frac{1}{8} \Rightarrow 8 x - 32 = x + 2$
$\Rightarrow 8 x - x = 2 + 32$
$\Rightarrow 7 x = 34$
$\Rightarrow x = \frac{34}{7}$
