The Preamble to the Indian Constitution is a brief introductory statement that establishes the fundamental principles of the Constitution. Four of its guiding values are
1. The Constitution derives its power from the people of India.
2. The Constitution seeks to establish India as a sovereign democratic republic.
3. The Constitution seeks to secure social, economic and political justice to all citizens of India.
4. The Constitution seeks to secure liberty, equality and fraternity for all citizens of India.
