  • These states of matter are interconvertible under some conditions.
  • The conditions of temperature and pressure are very important for these states.
  • Because on altering the conditions of temperature and pressure, the interparticle space gets affected and thus the strength of interparticle forces of attraction changes between them.

For example: If the gas particles are subjected to low temperature and high pressure, the interparticle space decreases and force of attraction increases due to which it gets liquify. Thus, a gas converts into liquid under the conditions of high pressure and low temperature.
