Question

The velocity of a particle at an instant is 10 metre per second after 5 second the velocity of the particle is 20 metre per second velocity at 3 seconds before from the instant when the velocity of a particle is 10 metre per second

Solution

If we add the condition that the acceleration is constant, it's easy: the acceleration is the change of velocity divided by the change of time or (20-10)/(5-0) = 2 m/s^2. Therefore the velocity at 3 seconds earlier must been 2*(-3) = 6 m/s less. That is 10-6 = 4 m/s.
