Displacement = Summation of all the area with sign
$=\left(A_1\right)+(-A_2)+\left(A_3\right)=(2\times 4)+(-2\times 2)+(2\times 2)$

$\therefore$ Displacement = 8m
Distance = Summation of all the areas withour sign
$=|A_1|+|-A_2|+|A_3|=|8|+|-4|+|4|=8+4+4$
$\therefore$ Distance = 16m.
