The velocity-time graph of a moving body is given below in figure. Find the acceleration in part AB, BC and CD.

We know,
Acceleration $=$ slope of velocity - time graph

$=\frac{\text{change in velocity}}{\text{time taken}}$

• For part AB

Acceleration $=\frac{30-0}{4}=7.5{\text{~ms}}^{-2}$

• For part BC

Acceleration $=\frac{30-30}{8-4}=0{\text{ms}}^{-2}$

• For part CD

Acceleration $=\frac{0-30}{10-8}=-15m{s}^{-2}$
