According to the problem, 50 divisions of vernier scale which coincide with 49 main scale divisions.
50VSD=49MSD

MSD=5049VSD or 1VSD=4950MSD
Where MSD= main scale division and VSD= Vernier scale division.
We know that
minimum inaccuracy=vernier constant

=1MSD1VSD

=1MSD4950MSD=150MSD

It is given in the problem that 1MSD=0.5mm

Hence, minimum inaccuracy=150×0.5mm

=1100=0.01mm
