The virus causing AIDS cannot be transmitted from an infected person to a healthy person by shaking hands.
Blood transfusion
Human immunodeficiency virus or HIV is the virus that is responsible for suppressing the immune system in an individual resulting in AIDS. HIV can be transmitted through unprotected sexual contact, transfusion of infected blood, infected syringes or from an infected mother to child during childbirth or breastfeeding. It, however, cannot be transmitted by shaking hands or mosquito bites.
