Solution

In viviparous animals, the development of the embryo takes place inside the womb of the mother.
The structure of the body results in the production of young ones. It is developed inside the uterus of the mother. So, fewer offspring are produced per litter.
But in oviparous animals, the development of the embryo takes place outside the mother body in the external environment.
There are many stages for hatching between these time periods; many eggs are broken or do not incubate well.
So, a large number of offspring are produced per litter.
