The voice coil of a speaker has a diameter of 0.025m, contains 55 turns of wire, and is placed in a 0.10T magnetic field. The current in the voice coil is 2.0A. Determine the magnetic force that acts on the coil and the cone.

Current, I=2A

No of turns, N=55

diameter, D=0.025m

magnetic field, B=0.1T

Step 2: Calculating the length of the loop

Length of the loop can be calculated as

L=N×(πD)

L=55×3.14×0.025=4.3175m

Step 3: Calculating magnetic force

Magnetic force, F=ILBsinφ where φ is the angle made by the length vector with magnetic field vector.

Here φ=90o

Hence, F=2×4.3175×0.1×1=0.8635N

Therefore, the value of magnetic force is 0.8635N
