The volume of $50g$ of a substance is $20{cm}^3$. If the density of water is $1g/{cm}^3$, will the substance sink or float when placed on the surface of water? What will be the mass of water displaced by the substance?

$density=mass/volume$

when substance sink or float in water it will exactly displace water equal to its volume i.e. 20

So the mass of water displaced= density of water * volume displaced

$m=1\times 20$

$=20gm$
