The volume of a cylinder is 150π cm3 and its height is 6 cm. Find the area of its total surface and lateral surface.

Given: Volume of cylinder =150π cm3=150×227 cm3

and, height, h=6 cm

The volume of the cylinder is given by π×r2×h

227×radius2×height=150×227

radius2=150×227×(722)×1height

r2=150×16=25

r2=5×5

r=5

Total surface area =2×π×r(r+h)

=2×227×5(5+6)

=2×227×5×11=345.7 cm2

lateral surface area =2×π×r×h

=2×227×6×5=188.5 cm2
