The volume of a gas at STP is 2 L, 300 J heat is given to it, as a result of which volume changes to 2.5 L at 1 atm. Calculate the change in internal energy of the system.

$Δ U = q + w$
$W = - P Δ V$
$W = - 1 (2.5 - 2) = 0.5 L a t m$
$= - 0.5 \times 101.3 J$
$= - 50.65 J$
$Q = 330 J$
$Δ U = 300 J + (- 50.65 J)$
$= 249.35 J$
