The volume of water in a measuring jar is 24 mL. When a stone is immersed in the water, the water level rises to 32 mL. What is the volume of the stone ( in cm3)?

The correct option is A 8
Initial water level on the jar = 24 mL

Water level after the stone is added = 32 mL

The water level rose due to the stone and the increase in the water level equals the volume of the stone.

i.e., Volume of the stone = Final water level - Initial water level
= 32 mL - 24 mL
= 8 mL

But, we know that 1 mL=1 cm3.
The volume of the stone is 8 mL=8 cm3.
