Heat given to aluminium (Ha)=ma×ca×ΔT ....(1) Heat given to water (Hw)=mw×cw×ΔT .....(2) From (1) and (2), we get Water equivalent (mw)=macacw We know that,specific heat capacity of water (cw)=1 cal g−1 ∘C−1 Hence, water equivalent (mw)=20×0.21=4 g Thus, option (b) is the correct answer.
