The water in a cubical tank of side 10 m is transferred to completely fill a cuboidal tank of length 5m and breadth 10m and height h. Find the height of the cuboidal tank (in metres).
Volume of a cube = (side)3
∴volume of the cuboidal tank=10×10×10=1000 m3
Volume of a cuboid = (length) × (breadth) × (height)
So height of cuboidal tank can be found by
height=volumelength×breadth
=10005×10
∴ Height = 20 m.
