For the shortest possible length, it should be allowing fundamental frequency resonance.
In fundamental frequency
L=λ2(K=2πλ)
=2π/K2=πK
from y=0.5sin(0.025πx)cos(500t)
K=0.025π(oncomparingwithy=Asin(Kx)cos(wt))
L=π0.025π=100025
[L=40cm]

Hence Option (C) is correct.
