The weekly expenses of a boy have increased from Rs 1,500 to Rs 2,250. Find the ratio of :

Finding the ratio of the increased expenses to increase in expenses :

Given,
Original expenses=Rs 1500
Increased expenses=Rs 2250
Thus,
Increase in expenses=Increased expensesOriginal expenses
=Rs 2250Rs 1500=Rs 750
The ratio of increased expenses to increase in expenses
=Increased expensesincrease in expenses=2250750=22575

Now, simplifying the above ratio or fraction into its lowest form by dividing the numerator and denominator by 75, we get
225÷7575÷75=31=3:1

Therefore, the ratio of increased expenses to increase expenses is 3:1.
