Solution

(a) Mass is the quantity of matter contained in a body and does not vary from place to place. So, the mass of the boy on the moon is the same as that on earth i.e. 30 kg.
(b) Given, the weight of a body of mass 6.0 kg on moon=10 N
So, weight of a 1 kg mass on moon =106N
The mass does not vary at different places, weight of 30 kg boy on moon's surface will remain same.
weight of a 30 kg boy on moon =30×106N
=50 N
weight of the boy on the moon surface is 50 N
