Solution

Given

The weight of an object on the earth = 300 N.

Required to find

The weight of the object on the surface of the moon

Solution

Let the weight of the object on the surface of the earth is We and the weight of the object on the surface of the moon be Wm.

We know that the weight of an object is 1/6th of the weight of the same object on the surface of the earth.

Wm=We6

Wm=300N6=50N

Hence, the weight of the object on the surface of the moon is 50 N.
