The wheels of a car are of diameter 60 cm each how many complete revolution does each wheel make in 10 minutes when car is travelling at a speed of 66 km per hour.

Speed of the car =66km/hr

Distance travelled by the car in 1hr or 60 minutes is 66km

Distance travelled by the car in 10 minutes is 6660×10=11km=11×1000×100cm

Diameter of car wheel =60cm

radius of car wheel =30cm

Circumference of the wheel =2πr=2×227×30=13207cm

We know that,
Circumference of the wheel = Distance travelled by the car when its wheels take one complete revolution =13207cm

Number of revolutions made by wheels in 10minutes is given by

distancetravelledbythecar10minutesdistancetravelledbythecarwhenitswheelstakeonecompleterevolution


=11×1000×10013207


=77×1000×1001320


=5833 revolutions


Number of revolutions made by wheels in 10 minutes is 5833 revolutions
