The width of a rectangle is three-fourths the length. If the perimeter is 84 cm, find the length and width of the rectangle.

Let the length of the rectangle be l and the breadth be b.
Given:b=34l
Perimeter=2(l+b)=84cm
l+b=842=42cm
l+34l=42cm since b=34l
4l+3l4=42
7l4=42
l=6×4=24cm
Breadth=b=34l=34×24=18cm
length=24cm and width or breadth=b=18cm
