Width of expansion joint,
=20 mm
Change in temperature,
Δt=60C20C=40C
Coefficient of thermal expansion,
α=10×106/C=105/C
Joint filler compresses upto 50%
=202=10 mm
So, slab is allowed to expand
δ=2010=10 mm
δ=LαΔt
10×103=L×105×40
L=25 m
