Question

The work done by a body on application of a constant force is directly proportional to the distance traveled by the body. Express this in the form of an equation in two variables and draw the graph of the same by taking the constant force as 5 units. Read from the graph, the work done when the distance traveled by the body is 0 units.

Solution

The correct option is A 0 units

Let us take that , the work done =y units, when the distance travelled =x units.

Constant force =5 units.

We have y=5×x ... [ Work done = force × distance] Hence, the required equation is y=5x.

From the graph when x=0, we have y=0, i.e work done =0.
