R=8.3 Jmol1K1

Solution:-

For adiabatic process, no exchange of heat

dQ=0

So, dU=ΔW

nCVdT=+146×103J

nfR2×=146×103

[where, f is degree of freedom]

103×f×8.3×72=146×103

f=5.025

So, it is a diatomic gas

Hence the correct option is B
