$p (x) = x^{2} - 4 x - 21$
To find the zeroes of p(x).
$x^{2} - 4 x - 21 = 0$
$∴ x^{2} - 7 x + 3 x - 21 = 0$
$∴ x (x - 7) + 3 (x - 7) = 0$
$∴ (x - 7) (x + 3) = 0$
$∴ x - 7 = 0$ or $(x + 3) = 0$
