Then came Ted’s favorite period, GAMES!! But his PT teacher interrupted their game as he had to record the heights and weights of the students in his class.
All the students returned to class after the teacher recorded the readings. He put a question to one of the students to give the ratio of his height which is 150 cm to a girl's height, which is is 1.4 m. What should be his answer?
15/14
Ratio of the boy’s height to the girl’s height is (150 cm/1.4 m). To compare two similar quantities using ratio, we must make sure that their units are same. We know that,
1 m = 100 cm
⇒1.4 m = 140 cm
The ratio hence becomes equal to 150 cm140 cm i.e. 1514.
